Revolution
Revolution, a producer of food service bags, films and other products was founded as Pak-Sher in 1973, and was family owned until being sold to sold to Revolution Plastic Recycling in 2019. Rebranded under Revolution’s banner, the Kilgore, TX facility continues operating with the same local workforce and leadership team.
While you may not know the name “Pak-Sher”, “Command Packaging” or “Revolution”, you have absolutely benefited from their innovation in the plastic take-out bag industry. Pak-Sher invented the “waveform” and “soft loop” style carryout bags, with a client base including Chick-fil-A, Whataburger, Dunkin, and American Airlines. The Deliver-Safe bag is their newest creation, which allows restaurants to completely seal their food inside the delivery bag. Restaurants and order-from-home customers feel safe knowing that there’s no way to tamper with their food while it is in transit.
Revolution’s acquisition of Pak-Sher in 2019 has allowed the Kilgore facility to grow exponentially in a short time. By replacing outdated manufacturing equipment with state-of-the-art machines, some production lines at Revolution have more than doubled their output. Today, Revolution produces over 50,000 pounds of finished product daily. However, growth and expansion are nothing new for Revolution, with previous expansions to their Kilgore facility in 1980, 1986, 1990, and 2001. KEDC continues to support Revolution’s growth and success with local economic development programs like the Performance Incentive Grant.
