Kilgore has several higher education facilities in the surrounding area to benefit academic and training needs. Within 30 miles, five different institutions provide access to future workforce. In the 12-county Labor Draw, 12 offer a variety of academic awards and workforce training courses.
Located in the heart of Kilgore, with a second campus in the region, Kilgore College is a publicly supported, two-year, comprehensive community college. It is the region’s leading provider of technical education and works closely with business and industry to develop state-of-the-art educational programs.Â

In addition to basic academic courses for students, KC offers training in many high-demand programs and courses in high-tech fields and certificate programs.

A University of Texas System and is located just over 30 minutes from Kilgore. The University offers more than 80 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at their campus and enrolls more than 10,000 students.
One of the largest community colleges in Texas, with more than 115 degree and certificate programs, plus extensive training and technical programs.
A private polytechnic university that offers degree programs in engineering, aeronautical science, business, education, nursing, psychology, theology, and the arts and sciences.
A public community college with a nearby campus in Marshall, Texas. TSTC is the state of Texas's only public multi-campus technical college, offering associate degrees and certificates in technical skills and trades.
